Silicone Bakeware
I have decided to showcase items I find that really change things for me. I recently had some time to kill while waiting for my daughters’ Bible study to finish and decided to stop in at Sur La Table.
I usually only window shop here. As I mentioned in my post “The Frugal Homemaker” I am all about saving money, but I also like to buy items that will make things easier (i.e. if making dinner rolls won’t require laborious cleanup, or to much time and effort, etc).
Well, this new bakeware is “da bomb” as we say in Hawaii. It is called Trudeau (NOTE: I DO NOT GET ANY CASH FROM THIS COMPANY FOR ADVERTISING I JUST LIKE SHARING.)

What impressed me the most was the sturdy metal frame build within the silicone. I’ve always disliked silicone because they were so flimsy, but not this stuff!
They were a bit more pricey than the regular baking pans. The traditional pans have so many faults; non-stick pans scratch, cheap ones rust, and good restaurant grade pans turn black in the dishwasher, so I felt these were worth it.
They are currently on sale until May 30, 2019 for 30% off. The normal price of the cupcake pan is $26.95, but they are on sale for $21.56. I decided to get one bread pan and one cupcake pan to see if I liked them. If I did, I was going to go back for more before the sale ended, because who can get by with just 1 of each?
I came home and made some yummy garlic rolls (which I will share later.) I buttered half of the pan and left the other half unbuttered. Both sides popped out like magic. The other HUGE thing for me is they are bottom rack dishwasher safe (if something isn’t dishwasher safe, I probably am not interested.)

Well, I loved them and went back to get another cupcake pan but they were sold out! I guess I will need to order online. I did pick up these though!

I am ordering one from Amazon (currently on sale) and I will update this post to let you know if it is as good.
The Amazon ones worked exactly the same, and a fraction of the cost. I would definitely recommend choosing one with the handles as they really need that extra reinforcement when you pick them up!
